Product Code: SULOFRI

These super-low-friction (SULOFRI) high-tech stick-on soles can be attached to the existing soles of most dance shoes, street shoes, and exercise shoes*, to optimize the shoes' friction characteristics for dancing. The SULOFRI kit allows dancers to pivot with ease on extremely high-friction dance floors such as concrete and asphalt, and most carpets.

The SULOFRI kit uses super-low-friction components made of a space-age material and offers much less resistance to pivoting and linear sliding than our standard low-friction products (LOFRI-04 and LOFRI-DIY). It is also the only product that works real well on concrete and asphalt. Indeed, on those difficult surfaces pivoting is just as easy as it is with suede soles on well-maintained wood floors. However, the super-low-friction material is soft and wears out very quickly on those abrasive surfaces. For example, active dancers can wear out their super-low-friction components in as little as 6 hours of dancing on rough concrete (actual wear rate depends strongly on surface, dance style, and the dancer's weight).

Dancing on concrete and asphalt, outdoors
SULOFRI is primarily intended for dancing on concrete or asphalt outdoors and it is shipped configured for these types of surfaces. SULOFRI should not be used on any smooth, hard indoor floors (e.g., tiles, wood) since it is extremely slippery. Use SULOFRI only on concrete or asphalt and on most carpets.

Dancing on carpet
SULOFRI can be used for dancing on carpet. However, since there are tens of different materials, from which carpets are made, we cannot guarantee the suitability of SULOFRI soles for your particular carpet. On most carpets SULOFRI works well, but on some it may be too slippery.

Dancing on sticky indoor floors

For sticky indoor dance floors, we recommend our LOFRI-04 or
LOFRI-DIY products.

All components of this kit are backed by industrial-strength, dual-sided adhesive and they are ready to be affixed to shoes (see instructions under SUPPORT > How to affix).

  • 2x super-low friction side patches (use these as replacements if your toe patches wear out, or attach them next to the large disks, on shoes that are much wider than the large disks).
  • Superglue Gel - use per instructions, especially for non-flat soles or soles with a curvature. Also useful for minor repairs, if needed.
  • 2-page, full color instructions and usage tips (also downloadable here).

* Notes:
In order to use this product on running shoes or most other fitness shoes, all of which usually have aggressive (i.e., knobby) sole profiles, we strongly recommend purchasing our PERM Permanent Conversion Kit in addition to the SULOFRI kit. The PERM kit includes thin but smooth "base-soles" that users glue (with the included ultra-strong Superglue gel) permanently to the soles of their shoes, thereby providing an optimal surface, to which the SULOFRI product will securely adhere to.

Dire Warning: This product is intended to substantially reduce friction of dance shoes on rough outdoor floors like concrete and asphalt. Walking or dancing on smooth and clean tile, wood, or other hard floors while wearing this product dramatically increases the risk of slipping and falling. Walking on wet or slippery floors when wearing this product can be almost as hazardous as walking on ice with regular shoes.

These work best w/ Perm-Sheet on athletic shoes. 1st time applied is a general guess as to where the wear will occur, but you can plainly see where to apply the next set you purchase. (And you WILL purchase another set when you see how good your knees feel.) Spinning is a breeze on concrete.

Great October 24, 2016

These sole overlays are great on a floor that is not carpeted.  For sticky floors, great.  For carpeted floor that is what I needed it for, not what I expected.

Saved my ankles, knees & hips August 29, 2016

Felt so light on my feet, double spins. But circles were bit wide for my dance shoes. And they already had holes & tears after 1 evening of dancing (3 hours).

SULOFRI Stick-on Soles, Best Thing Ever! May 13, 2016

I used to buy felt to convert a regular shoe into adance shoe, but it added weight to the shoes.
Then I discovered your product.  It makes dancing effortless, and saves wear and tear on my knees.   I love these things and tell everyone about them.  Great idea!

Really great, on the right shoes April 12, 2016
Reviewer: Female dancer from Nampa, ID United States
I bought 4 sets of these and put them on several different types of shoes. They worked really well for the carpeted environment I've been dancing in, so I ordered a bunch more. I then bought several pairs of canvas sneakers from Target and put them on those. While they still provided excellent sliding and pivoting ability, they made a clicking noise when I walked. I discovered that if I used the smaller "support" pieces in place of the disk shaped piece at the ball of the foot, they don't make any noise and still work well. So, bottom line is that the product works well, but not on every shoe type. Would probably be better off just buying a sheet of the low friction material and cutting it as appropriate for the shoe instead.
